I am a Newtown resident and passionate supporter of sustainable agriculture. Although my kids are mostly grown (plus one in high school in New York City), I am very interested in supporting efforts to bring local and organic food to our schools and communities.

I am a long-standing member of New Milford’s Fort Hill Farm CSA and would love to help facilitate the development of similar ventures throughout Fairfield County, as farmer Paul Bucciaglia suggests in this excellent NY Times article about Fort Hill.

I also get all my meat directly from organic pasture-based growers in Dutchess County and would be happy to coordinate with anyone who wants to buy in bulk.

When I’m not foraging for local goodies and cooking them up, I work as a financial planner specializing in socially responsible investing (SRI), with offices in Sandy Hook (no Monsanto in my clients’ portfolios!). My business is called Conscious Financial Directions and I am an Investment Advisory Representative of First Affirmative Financial Network, LLC (FAFN), one of the oldest and largest investment advisory firms specializing in SRI. I also maintain a blog called “Conscious Comments” to which I post (sporadically) on financial and political affairs.
